Spent one night in Tokyo enroute to Shanghai. Got stuck in downtown because the last night train back to Narita left without me. (I incorrectly assumed 24x7 service)

Big and electronic! My favorite activity was drinking wine with my friends on the Rainbow Bridge monorail. It stops off at some weird futuristic development on land reclaimed from the sea -- my friends and I went at night, when there were no people around, and had a blast rollerblading and pretending we were in a Michael Douglas movie.

Busy busy busy and crowded, very fast paced but they seem to find a way to be alone even in crowds. Riding the train is pretty entertaining at rush hour when they pack you in.

I visited my friends in Tokyo and the neighbor cities. Great city, good food, high tech but too damn expensive.
